Xiao Zhan's Small Town Remedy Sets October 21 Premiere on CCTV-8 and iQIYI

Xiao Zhan's small-town doctor drama Small Town Remedy (小城良方, Xiaocheng Liangfang) will premiere on October 21, the show's official Weibo account announced on October 16. It gets the exclusive TV premiere in CCTV-8's prime-time slot and streams exclusively on iQIYI in mainland China.

Xiao plays Liu Zhengliang (刘铮亮), a gifted doctor whose career hits a wall and who is forced back to his hometown, a small town in China's northeast, to start from scratch. In the official synopsis he rounds up a crew of "unreliable" locals to do "the most reliable" work, writing everyday prescriptions that heal more than bodies. The past week's promotional clips lean into that setting: Northeastern dialect, winter gear and bathhouse banter.
