Love in the Clouds

In a world divided into the Six Realms of Hexu (合虚六境), the Qingyun Conference (青云大会) is the great yearly contest. For seven years the champion has been Ming Xian (明献), the cold crown prince of Yaoguang Mountain (尧光山). Then a former convict from the Jixing Abyss (极星渊), Ji Bozai, beats him, and becomes the talk of the realm overnight.

What nobody knows is that Ming Xian is a woman who has lived as a man since childhood, and that she was poisoned during the match. Her dancer disguise is therefore a second layer of pretence, on top of the male identity she has kept since childhood. Believing Ji Bozai is behind it, she slips into the Abyss under a new name, Ming Yi, posing as a dancer to get close enough to take the antidote. Ji Bozai, for his part, wants to know exactly who this woman is. Their wary exchanges drive the early episodes, and a larger conspiracy tied to their families gathers behind them.

The drama is set in an invented realm and adapts the web novel of the same name by Bai Lu Cheng Shuang (白鹭成双), the first work in what the production calls the Fuguang Immortal Realm (扶光仙境) universe. Zhi Zhu and Peng Xuejun (彭学军) directed; this was Zhi Zhu's first full-length series as director. Filming ran from August 31, 2024, to January 10, 2025.

Youku premiered it on October 8, 2025, as part of its Shenghua (生花) line, with Netflix carrying it overseas, and the finale aired October 26.
