About the drama
The Glory (雁回时, Yan Hui Shi, "when the wild geese return") is a household drama with a case file inside it. A young woman comes back to a family that never wanted her, and the mansion turns out to hold more secrets than the person who has just walked into it.
The appeal is the pacing and the cast around the leads. The English-language review site Chasing Dramas praised the quick plot and layered mysteries, the snowy settings (unusual in a genre that favors spring and summer), and the veteran actors, especially Wang Yan (王艳), Wen Zhengrong (温峥嵘) and Yu Entai (喻恩泰), as the household's mistress, Hanyan's mother and the head of the family. The same review found the two leads the weaker element, with little romantic chemistry, and gave it 7.5 out of 10 at the end of the run.

Zhuang Hanyan (庄寒雁), played by Chen Duling (陈都灵), was abandoned as a child and raised far from the capital. After about seventeen years of neglect she returns to the Zhuang family mansion as the third daughter of the principal wife. The welcome is cold: her mother rejects her, and the household's women and children make life difficult.
Fu Yunxi (傅云夕), played by Xin Yunlai (辛云来), is an official at the Court of Judicial Review (大理寺, Dali Si) who has reason to doubt her account of her past. Rather than expose her, he helps her. Together they look into a case that points back toward her own family. Her given name, Hanyan (寒雁), means "cold wild goose."
The series is a historical drama about a noble household in an imperial capital. It is adapted from the novel Chong Sheng Zhi Gui Nü Nan Qiu (重生之贵女难求, "reborn, a noblewoman hard to find") by Qian Shan Cha Ke (千山茶客). Filming began at Hengdian World Studios on March 23, 2024 and wrapped on July 12.
The drama was originally called Gui Nü (贵女, "noblewoman"); the title was changed to Yan Hui Shi shortly before launch. It premiered on Tencent Video on March 18, 2025 with little advance publicity. Yunhe Data (云合数据) placed it among the top ten long-form series on Tencent Video's list for total effective views in the first half of 2025, according to Yangzi Evening News (扬子晚报).
