About the drama
The Wonderful World (亲爱的你, Qin Ai De Ni, literally "dear you") is the kind of romance that cares more about mood than momentum. It was written and directed by Xu Bing (徐兵), and it follows two couples in two cities, Hangzhou and Beijing, joined by a chance resemblance. Its pleasures are quiet ones: lingering conversations, a ballet company's backstage, and a lead who plays two men.
That lead is Zhang Yishan (张一山), who plays both Xu Tian (徐天) and Zhou Tong (周同). He has said he treated them as two separate people, giving Xu Tian slower reactions and Zhou Tong more energy. Li Qin (李沁) plays Shi Diandian (石典典), and Ruan Ju (阮巨) plays Wen Xiaoyao (闻小摇). The series premiered on iQIYI and Tencent Video on June 30, 2025, ran 29 episodes, and is finished.
Commentator Ma Qingyun, writing on Tencent News at its premiere, called it highly romantic but "suspended" from ordinary reality and thin on event.

Xu Tian is a Hangzhou craftsman who makes traditional qipao dresses. He lost his mother young, is withdrawn, and has always believed that parallel worlds exist. One rainy autumn day he passes a stranger who looks very like him: Zhou Tong, a photographer from Beijing, outgoing and easygoing where Xu Tian is shy.
Xu Tian cannot let it go and starts to search. Through a blind date he meets Shi Diandian, who is blunt and exacting, and she agrees to help. The two travel to Beijing to see a ballet version of The Legend of the White Snake (白蛇传), whose lead is Wen Xiaoyao, Zhou Tong's girlfriend. On opening night Zhou Tong is hurrying to the theater when he is in a car accident, and the relationships of both couples change course. From there the series follows what the four of them do with the years of love, loss and healing that follow.
The story is set in present-day China and moves between Hangzhou, where scenes include Leifeng Pagoda, and Beijing. The ballet and Xu Tian's mother, who loves the Yue opera version of the same legend, tie the generations together. The title is the everyday endearment "dear you."
As of October 2026, iQIYI's page for the drama shows a rating of 6.9.
