Liu Meishun is a girl from the mountains who marries into a three-generation Beijing family. Her husband, Zhao Changsheng, is a good-hearted man whom people call the "Forrest Gump of Beijing": his intellectual limitations meant his own family looked down on him from childhood. Adapted from Mao Jianjun's novel, the drama follows the two of them, from very different worlds, as they learn to rely on each other and make a life together, told through the ordinary joys and frictions of a household spanning three generations.
