小凉快儿
xiǎo liángkuair · 'little breezy one': a passenger motor-tricycle whose cab lets the wind and snow in
Liangkuai means pleasantly cool, and the diminutive xiao ... r turns it into a nickname: the little breezy one. In episode 2 of Small Town Remedy, Chen Junnan flags down a passenger motor-tricycle in a snowstorm and calls it exactly that, since its flimsy cab lets the cold and the snow straight in. Liu Zhengliang, who cannot bear the sight of snow, balks: he won't ride the little breezy one, because those things ignore traffic rules. Three-wheeled motorcycles like this are a common, cheap ride in small Chinese towns, more often called sanbengzi (三蹦子), after the banging of their engines.
