About the drama
Love Me, Love My Voice (很想很想你, Hen Xiang Hen Xiang Ni, "miss you so much") is a romance in which sound does the courting. Gu Sheng (顾声), played by Zhou Ye (周也), is a university student who writes and sings in the guofeng (国风, "Chinese-style") music scene under the name Sheng Sheng Man (声声慢). Mo Qingcheng (莫青成), played by Tan Jianci (檀健次), is a cardiac surgeon who also works, anonymously, as a voice actor known as Qiang Qing Ci (锖青磁), the performer she most admires.
The draw is how seriously the series takes its music. Director Sha Weiqi (沙维琪), who has a music-production background, told the Beijing News that the show has three in-story concerts and many songs written for the plot, some commissioned about a year and a half before filming began. He also said he deliberately avoided the glossy "sweet drama" look and built the emotion from small, realistic everyday moments, such as a typhoon scene in which the leads worry about each other without meeting.

Mo Qingcheng, in the middle of his anonymous voice work, accidentally recites a recipe to Gu Sheng, and the first connection between them is made through a voice. She has long hoped to collaborate with Qiang Qing Ci, and the two draw closer with the help of friends around them, including her roommate Geng Xiaoxing (庚晓幸) and members of a dubbing club.
From there the story is a slow courtship in which he uses food and his voice to win her over. Her own career in the guofeng scene grows alongside the relationship, and the series moves between his hospital, a dormitory, a KTV and the stage.
The series is set in the present day. Filming ran from September to December 2022, mainly in Guilin and Nanjing, with the opening shot in Yangshuo County. It is adapted from the novel of the same name by Mo Bao Fei Bao (墨宝非宝), who also wrote the screenplay. Penguin Pictures (企鹅影视) is among the production companies.
The 33 episodes aired on Tencent Video from November 30, 2023, with the finale on December 24. The Beijing News reported on December 22 that the drama had topped Maoyan's daily drama heat chart three times since it began airing.
The soundtrack also found an audience. The in-story song Wan Gu Cui Sha (万骨催沙), sung as Qiang Qing Ci, became popular as material for fan edits; Tan Jianci performed it in a lower, rougher voice in the KTV scene so that Mo Qingcheng would not be recognized by his own voice.
