bù chàqián · 'not short of money': what families tell the doctor so that cost will not hold back treatment
Literally 'not short of money'. In a hospital in a small Northeastern town almost everyone is short of money, so when a family says this to the doctor it does not describe their bank account. It means: use the best treatment, we will find the money however we must, do not hold back on our account. In Small Town Remedy the parents of an injured girl say it in episode 4, and the doctor Che Mingming understands at once what it costs them.

Small Town Remedy: How a Town Takes a Man Back
A boy sent south at eight comes home in his thirties to a Northeastern town he no longer knows. Small Town Remedy is less about whom its doctor cures than about how the town refuses to leave him alone, and about the actor who says he had never wanted a role this much.
