Till the End of the Moon

Li Susu (黎苏苏, Bai Lu, 白鹿) is the daughter of the head of the Hengyang Sect (衡阳宗), a cultivator school. To save a world ruled by the Devil God Tantai Jin (澹台烬), she goes back 500 years and takes the place of Ye Xiwu (叶夕雾), the youngest daughter of the Ye family. Her task is to stop Tantai Jin, before the evil in him has taken hold, from becoming the Devil God.

He turns out to be Ye Xiwu's husband. Tantai Jin (Luo Yunxi, 罗云熙) is a hostage prince of the state of Jing (景国), living in the state of Sheng, born with an "evil bone" and the body of a demon fetus, so he is the chosen heir to the Devil God. As Li Susu gets to know him, the mission and the feeling begin to pull against each other.

Luo Yunxi told Beijing News that Tantai Jin goes through many stages: the abused child hostage, the king, and later a junior disciple in a cultivation school. He also plays two further roles in the series, Mingye (冥夜) and Cang Jiumin (沧九旻). He said the scale of the world and the heavy conflict of the story first drew him to the script.

The setting is an invented world of cultivators, demons and mortal kingdoms; Beijing News describes the stakes as the four continents and three realms. The series is adapted from the web novel Hei Yue Guang Na Wen BE Ju Ben (黑月光拿稳BE剧本, "the dark moonlight holds the bad-ending script") by Teng Luo Wei Zhi (藤萝为枝). An English edition of the novel has been licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment.

Ju Jueliang (鞠觉亮) directed. Filming ran from October 16, 2021 to March 26, 2022, and it was the second Otter Studios production with Luo Yunxi as the lead.
