Diancha is whisked tea, the way tea was prepared in the Song dynasty. Tea is ground to a powder, then beaten with a bamboo whisk in hot water until it forms a foam. Preparing and serving it was a refined social ritual, and in drama it is often used to show a character's composure. Royal Nirvana put it on screen, and in one night visit to his tutor the ritual of preparing the tea carries what the conversation leaves unsaid.
